«Владивостокъ является самымъ культурнымъ и красивымъ городомъ не только Дальняго Востока и Приморской области, но, пожалуй, и всей Сибири». Так характеризуется наш город в издании «Азiатская Россiя» (СПб. 1914 т.1 с.312) В самом деле, многие сохранившиеся, построенные тогда здания, действительно замечательны. Однако, я представляю рисунки домов, не состоящих, в большинстве своём, в реестре памятников. Многие к этому времени снесены или вульгарно, до неузнаваемости «отремонтированы». На мой взгляд, эти сооружения являются (являлись) такими элементами застройки, которые позволяют говорить о едином историческом образе колониального портового, если хотите, романтического города. Отсюда и название серии «Вдалеке от метрополии. Скромное обаяние провинциальной застройки» Объекты изображения расположены в затеснённых пространствах, на сложном рельефе, заслонены чем-либо. Получить возможно только фрагментарное и искажённое фотоизображение из-за неудобных реальных точек съёмки. Работы создавались по наброскам с натуры, базовым обмерам, собственным фотографиям. Композиции выполнены построением архитектурной перспективы с использованием топографической основы. В этом случае, по-моему, такой подход позволяет наиболее полно передать архитектурное состояние и авторское чувство места.

“Vladivostok is the most cultural and beautiful city not only in the Far Eastern Territory and Primorsky Region, but, more likely, all over Siberia.”, - by these words, Vladivostok was characterized at the beginning of 20th century at the “Asian Russia” - a historical documentary script (St.Petetsburg, 1914, ed.I, p.312). By the fact, the majority of the buildings/ architectural objects, which have been built those times, and existing nowadays, are truly remarkable. But I mainly present the drawings of the objects, which are not in the list of architectural heritage. That is why, the majority of them are demolished or vulgarly renovated in the way, that you could hardly recognize the original. In my opinion, these objects were (and still are) the vital elements of the city infrastructure and landscape, which form a united historical appearance of the colonial port city, it could be even said, - romantic city. The name of the collection is based on that fact, and called - “Far from the Metropolis. Modest charm of the provincial architecture.” The objects represented on the illustrations are originally located in a very tight space and complicated, multi-level landscape, in some cases, they are also partly or mostly hidden by other buildings and constructions. It is difficult to get the full representation of the objects due to unreachability for photo shooting, thus, photos were made by fragments, from different angles and perspectives. The drawings were created by life sketches, based measurements and photos, made by the author. Design of the drawing is created based on architectural perspective with the use of topographic base. In my opinion, this approach allows to create the most specific and precise illustration of the architectural heritage, combined with author’s feeling of space and location. 1.
