Many Singapore landmarks play an important role in that moment of history and usually one’s sense of self is linked to the place. More than eighty similar sites have already been destroyed, as part of a progressive nation building programme. When we are forced to relocate and watch our former homes razed to the ground, it can generate a sense of emotional loss or disorientation. Therefore through all these endangered buildings, a speculative world was created. It encapsulates a sample size of Singapores forgotten memories and demolished buildings, being re-crafted and re-built, to create a bubble in which to hold these memories safe while the outside world continues to evolve and developed into the future. I speculates on an alternative vision that not only saves the endangered buildings of Singapore, but allows it to absorb physical artifacts from Singapores threatened urban infrastructure. A prototype for an alternative pattern for future development and craft-making in architecture; capable of allowing new and existing residents to forge new memories, whilst giving space for the past to breathe.
